  • Hong Kong share market finished session mixed on Tuesday, 06 June 2023, as weakness in utilities, tech, and financial stocks offset gains in properties stocks on hopes of more supportive measures soon from Beijing to bolster the real estate sector.

    At closing bell, the benchmark Hang Seng Index edged down 0.22 point, or 0.05%, to 19,099.28. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index added 15.74 points, or 0.24%, to 6,479.

    Shares of Chinese property developers jumped on speculation Beijing will stimulate the ailing housing market and restore growth momentum. Developer Longfor Group surged 7.8% to HK$18.34 while peers Country Garden jumped 6.2% to HK$1.55 and China Resources Land strengthened 4.6% to HK$32.95.
