  • Base Metals Preview: Copper Holds Above $4 Per Pound Mark

  • Copper is staying close to the flat line in early Asia on Monday but attempts to hold above $4 per pound mark. Positive cues from equities amid abating concerns of a banking crisis are seen offset by poor data from China. Top metals consumer China's factory activity grew at a slower pace in March, suggesting the economic recovery is uneven in the light of weak global demand and a property slump. The Chinese manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) grew 51.9 in March, below the prior month's reading of 52.6. COMEX copper is seen quoting at $4.09 per pound.
