  • WTI Crude Holds On To $70 Per Barrel

  • Crude oil prices eased on Thursday after U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell re-stated his commitment to curbing inflation, including the possibility of more interest rate rises. The Fed hiked interest rates as expected and highlighted banking sector credit risks for the world's largest economy. Meanwhile, Energy Information Administration continued to report rise in crude oil stockpiles last week to their highest in nearly two years. EIA reported weekly build in crude oil inventories of 1.1 million barrels. U.S. crude oil stocks stood at 481.2 million barrels at the end of last week, which was about 8 percent above the five-year average for this time of the year. WTI Crude Oil futures are attempting to hold near $70 per barrel and are currently quoting at $70.29 per barrel, down 0.82% on the day.
