  • ASSOHAM has stated in its budget recommendations that the government needs to prop up Ease Of Doing Business. Certain newly introduced provisions such as 0.1% TCS (tax collected at source) on goods transactions has put additional compliance burden on the industries. It is essential to ease the compliance burden for the industry to promote economic recovery. Given better trust and transparency between the government and the business, self-certification for the various compliance and reporting items by the businesses should be accepted instead of requiring businesses to obtain certification from third party agencies and professionals.
